Leaders

Ever wondered what is the difference between a "Boss" and a "Leader"?.  I truly believe a Leader is one who is servicing others.  His character shows in his actions and his deeds.  How many times we come across bosses that only care to make money and not care for their workers?. You see those same bosses giving to the famous charities only to have the name out there but with their own people who work diligently for years are not even spoken to. 

I am very much aware of people around me and the people that I choose to take into my space.  The characters stand out more than you know.  I would know this because I am blessed to be someone who works for a Leader not a Boss.  His unselfish acts, his generosity and his kindness speaks volumes.  His Leadership brings togetherness and love.  He touches each soul on a different level and he is far beyond the greed for money.  He loves it - he wants it but he gets it because of his unwavering commitment to serving others.

Three weeks ago as most would know the compound I live on was flooded out.  One of first to call was him -- I was in tears at the time -- his first words were "Nothing to worry about -- I will help you".  Sometimes things are said by others and they have no idea the impact  they have on others with just little words.  I knew this to be true as over the years he have never failed in his determination to make "his children" successful.  U see the difference to me is this -- he knows what is needed and when it is needed.  He just knows.  He knows when to push you to the limit of yourself to be successful and then he knows when its time to give generously without a question.  His light is more than each one of us that work for him can ask for. 

His richness goes beyond the financial aspect of his life and he continues to grow daily.  Leadership is never easy -- everyone wants their ego stroked from time to time -- but with him its a fleeting moment.

We often hear the saying "Teach someone how to fish instead of handing them the fish".  There are some circumstances where you need to hand the fish -- and some you teach how to fish.  The difference lies in the love and compassion you feel for others.  We cant make a difference to the whole world all at once but it starts with the "man in the mirror. 

A company is not a company without the "people".  When I look at companies now and you see the "Boss"  I often ask myself -- wonder which one --- Leader or Boss??

Mere Raam

I was listening to a song called "Mere Raam"  it means "My God" and it stirred so many emotions.  As I sat I closed my eyes and I can still type this while the song is playing. I can surely feel what it means and I can feel all the divine energies flowing through me and for me.  Two simple words "My God" what does it mean to you ?? 

 There is music that sings to your soul and you will feel connected to it - something we are all familiar with but it does something within us

I get to ask all the questions and I get to feel the answers -- I get to say "why?" and the light of the divine answers it on so many levels -- we are never apart.  And the tears would flow and the emotions are so very high when you are in this dance.  No one can tell you how you should feel and why you should - you embrace the emotions coming out and you take with you the lessons it teaches. 

When I look around me I see all the people whose light connects with mines and they are shining brighter than I have ever seen them.  U get so everwhelmed with emotions -- u are LOVE.

All dressed in white sitting by the ocean as the sun sets listening to the music of the soul and connecting with the Divine.  Basking in all that IS.  You are always protected.  Each and every soul has a journey -- its their journey -- their path to follow  and you have yours.  The souls that stay with you no matter what are the ones that would bring to you the light.  They shine their light for you to follow and in following them you reach level after level until you reach that state that IS.

I am not at that level but the journey in getting there is so profound --mystery after mystery. 
Let your journey be free to feel -- feel all the emotions that you need to feel -- love them and embrace them in your own way.  

So choose the music that sings to your soul and connect in a way that is beyond anything you have ever known.   ..................................  Feel your Raam

A Vacation

I read today"Instead of worrying when your next vacation is going to be, maybe you should set up a life you dont have to run away from".  True isnt it?  We dont like Monday mornings as we dont like to find our way to the workplace.  When we find the joy in our jobs and do it with passion then the rewards are endless. 

I remember when my boss sold the Company - I was devastated.  He sold the Company to friends of his and was quite confident that the culture there would not change.  It didnt for a couple years but then things inevitably did.  I was not happy there anymore and it showed in how I did my job and how much I got back from it.  Over a year or so things changed drastically and my previous boss got wind of all that was happening.  He with his kind heart decided to start a new Company and called me.  I was one of the first 5 people to resign after being there for 15 years.  I did not know anything about  salary or how we were going to make it as we had no stock - we had nothing really.  All I knew I trusted this man implicitly and I knew within myself we were going to make it.  

The five of us that resigned at the time sat around a table in a small office.  I still remember my first sale -- it was from a Company that have been with me for years . To cut the story here,  we are now the number one promotional items Company in Trinidad after just 2 years.  The passion we had inside to make it drove us to do what we needed to do to make it.  We enjoyed every second of it and we had love all around us. 

I do understand that not everyones workplace is going to be the same - and I  do know that we need to have an income to live but what I also know is that when your follow your passion and do it with love then you will be where you want to be faster than you can imagine.  I heard someone say not to long ago -- If you want to become a millionaire then help someone else become one :). 

Dont worry about the vacation that is needed sometimes - instead set up the life that you dont need to run from and everyday will be a vacation.  I smile at Monday mornings. We all have our stress to deal with day in day out sometimes but when your heart sings with the essense of life, when you inhale gratitude and let out peace -- Your world becomes sanctuary ....... :)

Finding your way !

Finding your way is never easy -- following a path that you are comfortable with and the path that takes you away from the judgement of others is very difficult.  We were born and then before you know it belief systems was handed to you and we all followed without a question. We were told if we  question the wrath will be upon us so we sat back and just followed. 

But then one day the search began - the questions that kept nagging at you in your heart had to come out and you start that shift - that freedom within to explore and understand - who am I and what am I here for.  We all have this within us but some see it and some choose not to ask the questions. Some find their path and they are contented with what they have chosen. 

We were judged based on whether we ask questions or we dont.  I live in a world where every religion believes they are the right way and that we will feel the wrath upon us if we dont follow.  But is it really so ?  I learnt now we find our own way - shine our own light and connect with our maker in the most comfortable way known to us.  We should be passionate of getting to know and loving our God the best way we know how. 

We should treat all of mankind with unconditional love regardless of what religion or path they have chosen to take.  Isnt this the true message?  Isnt this how God loves us ?  Unconditionally?  We often try to find our way - find our path - and we search and search out there to get the information we need to take the next step but we bypass looking within.  When we are passionate about who we are and what we stand for then we have defined ourself.   When we connect with God we need not search any longer as we found what we have been searching for right inside of us.  Our higher self will never steer us wrong if we just learn to connect on a pure level and listen to the voices within. 

I heard something today --they were talking about -- IMAGINATION -- he said "I -- Magi ---- Nation"  we are a nation of magic.  We can create only if we allow ourselves to imagine what we want out of life and love and then the magic is created.  We all know the saying -- you bring about what u think about. 

Lets connect - lets leave the fact that we follow a particular religion to dissuade us from being the best we can be to each other. We all try to find our way - but we can only do this by being true to ourselves.  The people and signs are all there to help us on our way if we just pay attention them.  Our path is a journey - a journey not based on the belief system given to us but by the belief system we create for ourselves from our hearts. 

The Message

Do we look at others and the status they carry before we can take a message from them?? I know some do - they only take the signs and the words that come from their spiritual leaders or their parents, teachers and the list go on.  Its only taken from the people that are worth something in their minds or hearts.  Why is this??  Is it because we lack the awareness of lifes signs that speak to us everyday?  I think we do sometimes. 

I have realised the messages and signs come in all forms from the people we least expect but if we open our hearts and minds to the beauty there is and that each and every single one of us have something to teach others then our path would be easier to follow.  There are signs in everyone -- the words others speak are to you and also for you.  It comes in all disguises we just have to listen.

I once had a friend that told me he was going through a very hard time in life - he lost his girlfriend, job and didnt know how to handle things.  While chatting I asked him "so what did you do ?"  His answer was - "I wanted to end it all -  but I couldnt"  so the next best thing to do was to drown his sorrow with alcohol.  I said "u drank it all away??"  He said I tried to but something happened that night.  I remember his words -- "I was driving to the next available bar I can find and as he came out his car a man passed close to him as he was closing the door and bounced his shoulders,  as he turned around he saw a dirty looking man barely clothed with a bottle in his hand - drunk as can be.  He smiled and opened his car again and went back home. 

He told me I knew if i had started drinking that night I probably would not have stopped and looking at that man that night I believed it was a sign.  God used a drunk man to send a message to him - to send a sign to him.  To date he survived and have a lovely life.  

My friends the signs are always there - the messages are always there if we just take the time to notice them.  We sometimes think that the only people that can guide us are the ones that we look up to and the ones that have given us guidance all our lives but this certainly is not the case.  We have messages in everyone -- even a beggar on the street.  They are there to remind us sometimes that the choices we make lands us where we are.  We are ONE and we contine to learn and grow each and everyday.

Unconditional love is something we need to cultivate for others and for mankind.  When we love unconditionally even to the ones that hurt us we let go - we let go of all the blockages that keeps us from stepping forward and claiming all that is rightfully ours.  The gift of life, the gift of love and all that it brings with it. 

We are LOVE and if we take every person as a message - every sign as a message and we learn to take from others - whether it be our leaders, our parents , our family, our angels and guides we will grow into the beings we were created to be.  A being of infinite light and love ...... :)

Trials

God loved me enough to put me through a trial recently.  I couldnt understand what was taking place - all I knew in a couple of days things went out of hand and I lost people I knew for a long long time.
The understanding of things was not there but still in the realization of why I think they happened hurt even more.  They pass judgement for things that they themselves have caused by their own hands.  I did see the signs I just totally ignored them. 

I saw different sides to people that I never knew existed.  One day someone is telling me I am an amazing woman and the very next day it was a different story being told. Who knows what the hidden agendas could have been.  I was forced to let things go and move on and not fighting for what I know to be the truth. 

Friends claim they love you but when the going gets tough they allow you to walk in darkness as they sit back and smile causing conflicts everywhere they turn.  What was even more enlightening to me is that these emotions was there all along, it was just disguised in a way I never suspected.

This has happened to every single one of us at some point or the other but yet still when it happens to people we know we take sides without even asking "What happened".  A true leader always put the welfare of their followers above their own.  They have a sense of stern kindness when they need to be and their humbleness is evidence of the wisdom they have within.

When I sit and listen to my conscience, my inner guidance - you know the thing that never steers you wrong ?  U find all the answers to every single question and you realise that God was there all along.  He was just guiding you to a better place but it took something ugly to get you there.  This year is a year of cleansing,  and so it will be.  Things will happen that we dont understand but it will be for our higher good. 

You always try to remember the good in others -- people were not always this way - change is constant.  Remember the times you laughed with the person, when you would have lunch and talk for hours.  Keep those memories alive and let go of the ones that hurt -- it has already served its purpose. 

When I look back now I smile,  I use to think if I lost people I will be so alone.  I am overwhelmed by how much more God have put into my life now.  People that sit with me and laugh uncontrollably, People that everyday when we talk its filled with inspiration and helping others.  People that come online just to say hello and share with me the steps they are taking in becoming succesful.  Friends walking back into my life that I thought I lost forever.  The realization that life is ever changing and learning from those changes are the most beautiful gifts.

So when Im driving now and an old familiar song plays that takes you back to the memories -I smile.  The freeness I feel now is something that is unexplainable.  Finding who you truly are is a journey and it takes people to help you achieve that.  The people that hurt you is not to be blamed for anything -- they were part of the journey to finding you.  Thank them and know within you learnt from them the lessons that have now made you even stronger than before. 

None of us are exempted from mistakes, we all make it and we all hurt others at some point in time -some intentional and some unintentional.  When others hurt you let it go, take no revenge its not worth it in the end -- use your energies for helping others, loving others, being kind to others and you will see that the world that u once thought was falling apart is now the world you cant wait to "live" in. 

Answered Prayers

Sometimes we go through life just wondering sometimes, wondering what is out there for us, wondering who is going to come along and sweep us off our feet, wondering if we would ever find love, trust , care and all the other things that goes along with our hunger for love,  We often wonder if God is really listening, if the angels are really holding our hands, you wonder if they are  really there when we call upon them – or is God really llstening when we go on our knees begging for a way out of these problems that always seem to come face to face with us day after day.

The beauty of what is outside is an indication of the beauty within.  When we open our hearts to being at peace with ourselves then we can truly see the beauty around.  When we have a heart of gratitude for all the beauty around us , only then the veil from our eyes are removed and we see the beauty of everyone and everything that was created.

I watched my mom 3 years ago in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for her life  – she did not respond for two days, her eyes remained closed with not an indication if she will ever open it.  The doctors can only tell us what they know nothing more - we just had to wait and pray.   I thought it was the end and my heart broke seeing her lying there with just tubes down her neck.  Prayers would be on our lips constantly as we watched with the shiver in our hearts that maybe she may not make it.  Then she awoke on the 3^rd day – although she did she could not speak - u would call her name and her eyes will just fly open – she could not answer you.  By the 5^th day things started changing – one of the times I remember was when I needed to put some lip balm on her lips as it was cracked and the nurse said “Let her do it”  I remember putting the balm on her finger but she could not reach her lips – she just kept trying – her mouth could not reach her hands and her hand could not reach her mouth.  My heart broke in a million pieces as never before had I seen an adult turn into a child again.  All the while – tears were being shed, hopes were lost , prayers just seemed like it would never be answered , and thoughts that the Angels are not hearing my cries.

3 Years after I can look back and say – God was there, the angels did hear me – I was just too caught up in wanting everything to happen now so I would feel better.  I did not realize that it was answered almost immediately – just her physical body needed time to heal itself. 

I lost my dad 19 years ago – he was more to me than anything but that day at the hospital bed I could have felt his presense – and I remember saying – “I already lost you – please don’t  take her now”  little did I know he was not there to take her but maybe to give her the strength to come back fully. 

My friends we have soo many questions sometimes that goes unanswered, some days we are at our worst and some days we at our best,  sometimes its hard to believe that our prayers are going to be answered and you don’t think the angels are listening.  But I have come to know now that just because you don’t see a way doesn’t mean God doesn’t have a way!!  In our lives each and everyday we sometimes take for granted the little things, maybe our parents, our families and maybe even the fact that we are not in a hospital.  Lets all strive to be better to all so that maybe if we do end up in a hospital bed that the light that shines within us will be enough to give our loved ones the faith to believe that all prayers will be answered and that the angels are always with us.
